Job Title: Senior Frontend Engineer
About the Role
Were looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to play a pivotal role in our Marketplace web rewrite initiative. Youll lead the rebuild of our highest-traffic user journeys and establish the frontend architecture patterns and standards that will be used across the entire platform for years to come.
This is a senior-level role with Staff-level scope and impact. Were growing our engineering levels thoughtfully and we expect the right candidate to naturally progress into a Staff Engineer position as they expand their influence and ownership across teams.
Location: In-person at our NYC headquarters (4 days/week Monday-Thursday)
Compensation: 170000 - 210000 base salary equity (commensurate with experience)
What Youll Do
- Own major initiatives end-to-end starting with high-impact surfaces like Search Results (SRP) and Product Details (DLP) with clear success metrics around Core Web Vitals SEO and conversion.
- Lead technical design for complex projects (RFCs/design docs) drive alignment with Product and Design and make pragmatic high-quality tradeoffs.
- Define and champion reusable frontend patterns in a modern App Router codebase including routing data fetching caching component architecture error boundaries and analytics.
- Raise the overall engineering quality bar through code reviews standards and hands-on mentorship for a junior-leaning team.
- Improve developer velocity by enhancing tooling and practices (Playwright testing Datadog observability CI/CD hygiene etc.).
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers to shape efficient API contracts that unlock better frontend performance and faster iteration.

Qualifications

- 7 years of experience building production-scale web applications (or equivalent senior-level impact).
- Deep expertise in React and modern frontend architecture particularly with (SSR App Router).
- Proven track record leading major rewrites or migrations of high-traffic web experiences with measurable improvements in Core Web Vitals SEO conversion and reliability.
- Strong technical judgment and comfort leading ambiguous high-impact projects from ideation through rollout and measurement.
- A high engineering bar disciplined testing observability-first mindset and passion for maintainable scalable code.
- Excellent communication and mentorship skills with the ability to elevate the entire team.
