Our Strategic Policy Science and Engagement team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer Restoration Science to support critical science and restoration initiatives that contribute to the NSW Nature Strategy and the Landscape Restoration Framework.
This role supports the planning coordination and delivery of science-based projects that enable large scale landscape restoration across NSW. You will coordinate the development of a business plan for a four-year NSW Environmental Trust project focused on improving the restoration supply chain in partnership with external partner organisations. You will also contribute to initiatives focused on improving native seed supply provide expert advice develop plans and strategies manage project activities and work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to advance restoration science priorities.
About You
You are an experienced science or environment professional with proven capability in strategic planning within a scientific or research focused organisation. You bring strong technical knowledge of the natural sciences and are comfortable applying scientific evidence to inform policy strategy and program delivery. You have experience managing complex projects preparing high quality written advice and contributing to plans and frameworks that support long term environmental outcomes.
You are confident working collaboratively across disciplines and organisations with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills and the ability to translate complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences. Well organised and adaptable you can balance competing priorities manage project timelines and deliver accurate and timely outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Key knowledge and experience
- Proven knowledge skills and experience in strategic planning relevant to a scientific/research organisation.
- Proven knowledge skills and experience in the provision of professional scientific services and research related to the natural sciences.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant tertiary degree in ecology environmental science natural resource management botany or similar
