Job Summary

Symons Clark Logistics is a 150-year-old family owned Port Adelaide based transport and logistics company. Our experience brings with it premium wharf cartage and container transport services with a focus on providing customers with complete logistics solutions including warehousing container pack/unpack distribution over-dimensional heavy haulage project logistics and Australia wide bulk haulage.

Symons Clark Logistics is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Supervisor to support our Regional Mining Operations Team at Prominent Hill.

This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing site operations and ensuring the safe efficient and compliant execution of daily activities. Working closely with drivers site personnel and head office teams you will play a critical part in coordinating workflows managing resources and maintaining operational performance across all areas of the site.

This position operates on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster with Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) or Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) options available depending on your location. Accommodation and meals are provided while on site.

What you will be doing

  • Supervising and coordinating day-to-day site operations to ensure productivity safety and efficiency targets are met.
  • Leading and supporting drivers and site personnel providing clear direction and resolving operational issues in real time.
  • Overseeing scheduling fleet movements and allocation of resources to meet operational demands.
  • Monitoring and validating operational data ensuring accuracy in reporting systems and documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with site procedures including pre-starts safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviewing and approving daily reports on truck movements loading activities and stock levels.
  • Acting as the key point of contact between site operations head office and client representatives.
  • Proactively identifying risks and implementing solutions to improve performance and minimise downtime.
  • Managing incident reporting and driving Health Safety Environment and Community (HSEC) outcomes.
  • Overseeing workforce coordination including roster management leave planning and coverage.

Do you have

  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leadership role within transport logistics or mining operations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and direct teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational and decision-making abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with teams clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to operational challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook Word) and operational systems.
  • A proactive solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • A strong commitment to safety compliance and operational excellence.

  • Successful applicants will be required to complete a Pre-Employment Medical Drug and Alcohol Screening and Police Check.
