The Opportunity

Are you an ambitious leader with a passion for environmental projects and operational excellence My client is seeking a high-caliber Waste Recycling Operations Manager to lead their purpose-driven team at a vital waste management site in Leyton.

This is a high-impact role where you will be at the heart of the operation driving innovative solutions and managing a dedicated workforce to ensure the facility remains a leader in sustainable waste management.

Core Responsibilities

In this pivotal role you will have full accountability for the safe and efficient long-term operation of the site. Your duties will include:

• Site Management: Overseeing all operational activities in strict accordance with Environment Agency licenses and Health & Safety requirements.

• Leadership & Development: Leading directing and appointing staff while fostering a culture of continuous professional development.

• Compliance & Safety: Compiling Risk Assessments and procedures monitoring statutory calibrations and reporting all incidents in line with company policy.

• Resource Optimization: Managing site budgets monitoring consumables/spares and ensuring all necessary equipment is available and maintained.

• Stakeholder Liaison: Building and maintaining strong relationships with the Environment Agency regulatory bodies third parties and customers.

• Reporting: Producing comprehensive monthly reports and performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management.

• Process Improvement: Planning and implementing site improvements to maximize utilization and maintain high housekeeping standards.

Who You Are

The successful candidate will be a decisive leader with a can-do attitude and a sharp eye for detail. To excel in this role you will need:

• Experience & Qualifications: A strong understanding of waste regulations is essential. A formal qualification in Waste Treatment/Transfer Station COTC is highly desirable.

• Technical Aptitude: The capability to oversee or undertake running repairs to plant and equipment.

• Operational Demeanour: The ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced high-pressure environment while remaining flexible.

• Accountability: A strong desire for responsibility and a commitment to challenging yourself and your team to improve constantly.

• Communication: Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to manage time effectively and meet high-quality deliverables.
