ormby Hall Golf Resort & Spa has an exciting opportunity for a Head Housekeeper to lead our Housekeeping department. Reporting directly to the General Manager this is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness presentation and guest comfort across the entire resort. WHATS THE ROLE

As Head Housekeeper you will lead and manage the entire Housekeeping operation across the resort ensuring consistently exceptional standards throughout guest bedrooms public areas spa facilities corridors back-of-house spaces and all guest-facing environments.

You will be responsible for managing motivating and developing the Housekeeping team creating a positive and high-performing culture while ensuring operational efficiency guest satisfaction and compliance with all health safety and hygiene standards.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with excellent organisational skills strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences. You will work closely with all departments across the resort to ensure standards are maintained at all times and operational priorities are achieved.

Flexibility is essential as the role will require weekend working in line with the operational needs of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead manage and motivate the Housekeeping department to deliver exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the resort
  • Oversee daily housekeeping operations including guest bedrooms public areas spa facilities pool areas and back-of-house spaces
  • Manage rotas staffing levels recruitment training performance management and employee development within the department
  • Conduct regular inspections of bedrooms and public areas to ensure standards are consistently achieved and maintained
  • Ensure all housekeeping employees conduct themselves professionally and deliver excellent guest service at all times
  • Develop implement and maintain housekeeping policies procedures and standards to maximise guest satisfaction and operational efficiency
  • Manage departmental budgets stock control linen levels and inventory of housekeeping equipment and chemicals
  • Ensure all COSHH regulations health & safety standards manual handling procedures and environmental policies are fully adhered to
  • Work closely with Maintenance to ensure all maintenance defects are reported and resolved promptly
  • Monitor productivity and labour costs while maintaining exceptional quality standards
  • Ensure lost property procedures key control security processes and emergency procedures are followed correctly
  • Lead by example with a strong operational presence throughout the resort
  • Handle guest feedback and concerns professionally ensuring issues are resolved effectively and promptly
  • Drive continuous improvement within the department and identify opportunities to enhance guest experience and operational performance
  • Ensure all team members complete required training and maintain compliance standards

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous experience in a senior housekeeping leadership role within a hotel or resort environment
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and high cleanliness standards
  • Experience managing budgets stock control and labour costs
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A hands-on management style with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Knowledge of COSHH health & safety legislation and housekeeping best practice
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
