Job Summary
Under the director of the branch director fitness instructors with Montgomery Cardiovascular Associates are responsible for supporting the health safety and overall wellness of members. Primary duties include assessing and monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure heart rate (HR) and oxygen saturation to ensure safe participation in exercise programs. Furthermore instructors design individualized exercise programs that are appropriate to members goals and fitness levels while also consistently tracking and evaluating progress. They provide hands-on guidance with exercise equipment ensuring proper technique safety and effectiveness during addition to fitness-related responsibilities instructors perform essential administrative tasks including member registration and general front-desk support. Finally they contribute to a professional and welcoming environment that enhances the overall member experience.
Responsibilities:
- Designing exercise prescriptions
- Aiding members with program implementation
- Blood pressure and vitals monitoring
- Membership registration
- Providing equipment orientations
- Performing fitness evaluations
- Cleaning and sanitizing equipment
- Giving facility tours with potential members
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and additional college level health sciences studies; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications and Trainings:
Current CPR First Aid/AED or within 30 days of hire; required YMCA safety trainings.
