Network Engineer

Job Description

LRS is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support design and improve network infrastructure. This role focuses on Cisco networking technologies SolarWinds monitoring and core IP networking while ensuring reliable secure and high-performing network operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on detail-oriented and able to collaborate effectively across IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure manage and troubleshoot Cisco switches (L2/L3) and firewalls
• Monitor network performance and availability using SolarWinds
• Design and maintain IP addressing and subnetting schemes
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity and performance issues across LAN/WAN
• Support network security through firewall configuration and best practices
• Maintain accurate network documentation diagrams and configurations
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement network improvements and solutions
• Perform network maintenance upgrades and patching
• Support operations teams and assist with incident resolution
• Participate in continuous improvement of network systems and processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with:
• Cisco switching and firewall technologies
• SolarWinds network monitoring tools

Strong understanding of:

• IP addressing & subnetting
• TCP/IP routing and switching fundamentals

Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues

• Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco certification (CCNA or CCNP)
• Experience in enterprise network environments
• Familiarity with network documentation and monitoring tools

Work Environment

• Collaborative team-oriented IT environment
• May require occasional after-hours support

Eligibility Requirements

• Candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer

The base range for this contract position is $25 - $40 per hour depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role level and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training.
