At DCLI were looking for people who want to grow their markets and drive the company to unforeseen heights. Youll be responsible for sales activities in your region and being the face of DCLI within the motor carrier industry. Successful candidates will demonstrate an entrepreneurial and positive attitude combined with the appropriate interpersonal skills. They will be a motivated self-starter with a strong desire to achieve personal and professional candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of transportation logistics and sales processes. The role reports directly to the Director of Motor Carrier Sales East.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong and visible presence within the assigned market by actively engaging customers understanding operational challenges and delivering value-driven solutions that create long-term partnerships and business growth.
- Achieve territory growth revenue and equipment utilization targets within assigned region.
- Develop strengthen and maintain strategic relationships with key customers motor carriers and industry stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends competitor activity customer needs and operational shifts to identify new business opportunities and drive strategic growth initiatives.
- Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of DCLI products services and the intermodal transportation industry.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers leadership and internal cross-functional teams.
- Support accounts receivable and collections efforts when necessary to ensure timely resolution of outstanding balances.
- Develop and maintain a technical understanding of intermodal chassis equipment and effectively communicate operational and product-related solutions to customers.
- Proactively identify operational or commercial challenges and implement timely customer-focused solutions.
- Provide accurate sales forecasting pipeline management and territory planning information to leadership.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer interactions sales activity opportunities and outcomes within Salesforce CRM.
- Conduct prospect qualification activities and provide local market intelligence to support strategic decision-making.
- Represent the company at industry conferences trade associations customer events and networking opportunities to promote brand visibility and business development efforts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations maintenance procurement and customer support teams to ensure exceptional customer experience and execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Minimum seven (7) years of account management and/or sales experience within the intermodal transportation industry required.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience within the intermodal motor carrier industry preferred.
- Valid drivers license required and must maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Must successfully pass annual background and motor vehicle record checks.
- Strong knowledge of local market dynamics competitive landscape and customer operating environments within the intermodal industry.
- Self-motivated results-oriented professional with exceptional interpersonal communication presentation and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and sell complex operational and technology-driven solutions aligned to customer pain points and business objectives.
- Proven ability to work independently manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic sales environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to quickly learn proprietary systems and technologies.
- Experience preparing professional sales proposals presentations and commercial recommendations.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving sales goals revenue growth and customer retention objectives.
- Adaptable and flexible with the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs and market conditions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks meet deadlines and execute effectively.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally and within neighboring states throughout the assigned territory as business needs require.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
