Under the supervision of the Building/Grounds Supervisor; the incumbent performs duties assisting in the care and upkeep of the landscaped areas of campus grounds and performs building maintenance and repair in multi-skilled work environment.
- Mows grass weekly during peak season picks up trash along the fence surrounding the campus keeps grounds free of all limbs and debris trims all bushes and hedges as needed and cleans flower beds.
- Maintains equipment by doing daily preventive maintenance and keeps equipment free of debris by washing and blowing down equipment daily.
- Performs other related duties as required.
The position for this posting is located at Coastal Regional Center an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Summerville SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Minimum and Additional Requirements
Experience in groundskeeping and maintenance work that is directly related to the area of employment. A Valid Drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years working experience.
Physical requirements: balancing stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance grasping hearing repetitive motions driving (including nights) counting and working over as required.
Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of personnel practices in state government. Skill in the use of cleaning tools and equipment. Ability to keep accurate written records. Ability to train new employees in the proper performance of their duties.

State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the States Disaster Plan which includes hazardous weather employees of The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
