This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance troubleshooting and repairs on commercial and industrial facility equipment in a safe efficient and professional manner. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations including lock-out/tag-out practices.
- Perform routine shift rounds to inspect systems and equipment identify issues and document performance.
- Troubleshoot maintain and repair commercial and industrial facility systems and equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections on:
- HVAC equipment
- Fire life safety systems
- Plumbing and electrical systems
- Motors transformers MCC panels circuits and variable frequency drives
- Dock equipment including overhead doors dock levelers dock locks and seals
- Building and parking lot lighting systems
- Repair and replace components such as pumps valves steam traps solenoids wiring piping drains and fixtures.
- Perform general facility upkeep including painting plumbing repairs and carpentry tasks.
- Complete administrative responsibilities such as parts ordering vendor coordination PO creation and project meeting participation.
- Document completed work in the CMMS system and recommend preventative maintenance updates.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers vendors and customer personnel regarding work status and completion timelines.
- Assist with maintenance projects and coordinate subcontractors as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by site leadership.
- Qualifications
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Trade school training or additional technical education preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of maintenance experience involving mechanical electrical plumbing or carpentry work in a commercial or industrial environment.
- Equivalent combinations of education training and manufacturing maintenance experience will be considered.
Certifications & Licenses
- Valid drivers license required.
- Forklift and JLG/aerial lift operation experience preferred.
Technical Skills & Requirements
- Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to disassemble and reassemble pumps fans fixtures HVAC systems and related building equipment.
- Working knowledge of HVAC plumbing electrical life safety systems and building operations.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts scissor lifts and aerial lifts.
- Basic computer skills including email CMMS/work order systems and maintenance software.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to occasionally support weekends or non-standard schedules as needed.
- Basic math skills including measurements percentages and geometry calculations.
