Position Summary
The Resource Specialist supports the administration coordination and growth of the Nesting Place program which assists students experiencing housing insecurity and other significant resource-related challenges. This position provides direct student support through application review scholarship and program monitoring benefit eligibility guidance and connection to campus and community resources.
The Resource Specialist ensures compliance with evolving legislative and institutional requirements related to student eligibility and support programs while maintaining accurate records tracking outcomes and assisting with program assessment and reporting. This role requires a student-centered professional with strong case management organizational and collaborative skills who can effectively support students navigating complex personal and financial circumstances.
Essential Responsibilities
- Review and process Nesting Place applications and supporting documentation in accordance with institutional policies and updated legislative requirements.
- Assist with determining student eligibility for program participation scholarships and related support services.
- Monitor student participation scholarship status and ongoing program compliance requirements.
- Provide individualized support and resource navigation to students experiencing housing insecurity financial hardship or other basic needs concerns.
- Connect students with campus departments and local community agencies for housing food assistance healthcare transportation public benefits and additional supportive services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records case notes and program documentation.
- Track program utilization student engagement and outcomes to support reporting and assessment efforts.
- Collaborate with university departments and external community partners to strengthen referral networks and coordinated student support efforts.
- Assist with outreach initiatives presentations and educational efforts related to basic needs resources and Nesting Place services.
- Support the development and implementation of operational procedures to maintain compliance with changing state and institutional regulations.
- Participate in divisional committees trainings and professional development opportunities related to student support and care services.
- Provide crisis response support and appropriate referrals as needed.

- Ability to interpret and apply policies procedures and legislative requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work with students experiencing crisis housing instability or financial hardship with empathy and professionalism.
- Experience maintaining confidential records and handling sensitive information appropriately.
- Ability to develop partnerships with campus and community stakeholders.

A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSA s responsibility is a duty to report.
