The Department of Conservation have recently made some big changes to help our people and operations work better togetherso we can achieve the conservation outcomes were aiming for.
As a Site Support Officer you will report to the Operations Advisor and play a key role in providing essential administrative and site support to ensure DOC facilities across the region run smoothly safely and efficiently.
This role is key to creating a safe well-functioning environment so our teams can focus on delivering conservation outcomes.
The position will be focussed on:
Working closely with the Site Lead to support the day-to-day running of DOC premises acting as the main point of contact for site and facility matters
Providing general office management support and being the go-to person for site-based queries
Coordinating the upkeep of DOC pool vehicles to ensure they are fit for purpose including servicing and WOF requirements
Supporting key health and safety activities including inductions safety and fire drills regular checks and ACC audits
Please note: This role is a 0.5FTE position. Days/ Hours to be negotiated between hiring manager and the successful candidate.

If you have some of the following we are keen to hear from you:
Experience in a broad administration support facility or fleet management role
Previous customer service experience would be advantageous.
Experience in general office management including record-keeping scheduling and supporting day-to-day operations.
A detail-oriented problem solver with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with ease
Strong communication skills with the ability to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders
Tech-savvy and an early adopter of new systems and technologies
Ability to coordinate tasks and follow through on site-related issues to completion
You bring a proactive approach and a continuous improvement mindset always looking for more efficient ways to get things done
An understanding of workplace health and safety practices (or willingness to learn)
New Zealand full drivers licence
