Job Description:
Supports the movement and growth opportunities for inbound and outbound cargo for freight forwarding customers. Ensures that freight is processed in compliance with governmental regulations (e.g. Federal Aviation Administration Transportation Security Administration etc.). Collaborates with vendors customers commercial airline carriers ocean freightliners and other internal support groups for the movement of international and domestic air and ocean shipments.
Responsible for overseeing evaluating and correcting the performance and outcomes of a team or multiple teams. Coordinates work across the organization to optimize efficiency. Makes key workforce decisions such as hiring onboarding transferring laying off disciplining assigning directing instructing developing and rewarding employees. Emphasis on aligning processes and fostering cohesion among team members.
Supervises a team(s) that performs work according to standardized processes or procedures (e.g. entry-level Professional Expertise Administrative or Technical Support). Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors. Problem solving is guided by policies procedures and the local business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager. Typically does not perform the work supervised.
Qualifications:
- Management Dispatch and Freight Forwarding Experience Preferred
- Ability to manage drivers equipment repairs and working relationship with vendors. Required
- Bachelors Degree - Preferred
- Strong Analytical and Organization Skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and produce accurate reports
- Proficiency in MS office applications
- Must have hazmat and cold chain certification.
- Multitasking skills - Preferred.
- Strong Problem-Solving and Communication Skills
- Warehouse experience - Preferred
- This position requires a flexible schedule; shift assignment may vary based on skill level.
