About the opportunity

The Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre is seeking an Online Learning and Development Officer to join the nationally recognised Dementia Research Education and Mentoring (DREAM) program.

This is a strategic practiceinformed role that plays a key part in strengthening the capability of the aged care workforce to deliver highquality dementia care. Youll be responsible for curating and growing a dynamic online learning network that connects aged care workers with peers experts education and evidencebased resources supporting the translation of knowledge into realworld practice.

Working closely with academics Dementia Support Coaches and sector stakeholders youll ensure the DREAM online network is engaging responsive and aligned with the contemporary needs and challenges of the aged care sector. Relocation to Tasmania may be considered for the successful candidate.

What youll do:

  • Sustain and promote the national online learning network for aged care and dementia care professionals.
  • Support the workforce to openly explore challenges share strategies and support one another.
  • Facilitate and moderate high-quality online discussions to support inclusive safe and meaningful professional learning.
  • Work closely with aged care providers and practitioners to identify workforce needs and inform content development.
  • Develop curate and oversee highquality evidencebased content across multiple formats including blogs resources and podcasts.
  • Translate sector insights and emerging challenges into ongoing content planning ensuring materials reflect current best practice and reforms.
  • Identify everyday workforce challenges barriers to care and practical improvement opportunities ensuring content is grounded in real practice.

What were looking for:

  • Contemporary knowledge and understanding of caring for people living with dementia
  • Experience of the aged care sector: knowledge of aged care policies and practices particularly those related to dementia care.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the educational needs of the aged care workforce.
  • Ability to communicate in different formats to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in online learning.
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently.
  • Ability to actively engage with the aged care sector and collaborate with peers.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130943 comprising base salary within the range of $101821 to $111917 plus 17% superannuation.
