How you will make an impact
The Emergency Department Clerical Team Leader will play a pivotal role in the efficient management of administrative functions within the Emergency Department (ED). Reporting directly to the Patient Services Operational Performance Manager this position will work collaboratively to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service delivery. The Team Leader will oversee the day-to-day functions of the ED Clerical Department working closely with peers to uphold high standards of performance and efficiency.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Overseeing and coordinating all Emergency Department registration and admission processes to ensure efficient and high-quality patient administration services.
  • Providing leadership guidance and day-to-day support to the ED Clerical team ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Developing and managing staff rosters balancing operational needs budget requirements and Enterprise Agreement compliance.
  • Collaborating closely with clinicians nurse leaders and ward staff to support admission workflows medical records management and administrative compliance.
  • Managing complex and escalated matters including patient eligibility health fund requirements and patient feedback.
  • Supporting staff training coaching and development to build capability enhance service delivery and foster a positive team culture aligned with Cabrini values.


What were looking for

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a customer service or healthcare administration environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in medical administration business or a related field (or working towards completion).
  • Strong people management coaching and workforce planning skills with the ability to lead and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication stakeholder engagement conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology patient management systems (such as WebPAS) Medicare billing and private health funding models.
  • Patient-focused professional and collaborative approach with the ability to maintain confidentiality manage competing priorities and uphold Cabrinis values of compassion integrity courage and respect.
