POSITION SUMMARY

The Director Annual & Leadership Giving will be responsible for building and overseeing the annual and leadership giving model for the CIA. This will be a groundbreaking opportunity to build a model of renewable sustainable giving with a strategic focus on alumni giving and exploring other unique donor segments such as friends parents food enthusiasts and other constituencies who may have an affinity for the mission of the CIA. This role will have the opportunity to set the overall strategy and direction for building annual giving as a key revenue source as we build our fundraising growth plans.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan oversee and execute comprehensive annual and leadership giving strategies for alumni friends faculty/staff and other strategic cohorts.
  • Develop innovative strategies to engage volunteers stakeholders and institutional partners to motivate philanthropic giving and build momentum for strong donor retention.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Manager - Development Communications to build direct mail electronic communications and other approaches to communicating to these audiences.
  • Develop and implement measurable goals and metrics to routinely monitor the impact of annual and leadership giving activities on the success of pipeline development funds raised donor retention and acquisition.
  • Establish and maintain tracking and testing methods for all solicitation initiatives and adjust strategies based on data analysis.
  • Manage a pool of leadership giving prospects to secure gifts of $1000-$25000 annually.
  • Work closely with stewardship team to build recognition activities that support donor retention.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFCATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelors degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum seven (7) years of annual giving leadership giving membership program management experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFCATIONS

  • Demonstrated success in building annual giving programs.
  • Strength in developing strategic and comprehensive fundraising plans and executing them against these plans to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Advanced degree is a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong analytical problem-solving and conceptual skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable dependable and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written verbal communication and presentation skills required.
  • Must have a proven consistent track record showing the ability to work with all levels within an organization.
  • Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation.
  • Commitment to innovation and experimentation to build growth strategies.
  • Ability to build trust and strong collaborative working relationships.
  • Embraces entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Strong computer experience which must include abilities to work effectively with MS Office suite products i.e. Word Excel PowerPoint.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Able to travel periodically to other CIA locations due to business needs.
  • Overnight domestic travel required on an intermittent basis.
  • Must be available to work nights and weekends as required due to business needs.
  • Regular work requires the use of a computer sometimes in excess of eight (8) hours per day.
  • Regular work requires a great deal of sitting and standing for extended periods.
