RN Neuro ICU Coronary ICU

A Level II Trauma Center in California is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit (NTICU) contract assignment on the night shift. This position involves caring for high-acuity neuro and trauma patients in a specialized critical care environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive acute critical care and Level II trauma experience along with the ability to float to multiple units as needed.

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night Shift (NOC)
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts with a 7:00 PM start time
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to Cardiovascular Unit Telemetry Care Unit ICU/CCU and Med/Surg units may be required

• 12-bed Neuro Trauma/Surgical ICU
• 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Specialized care for neuro and trauma patients

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing for neuro and trauma ICU patients
• Monitor and manage patients with ICP monitors CRRT therapy and lumbar drains
• Perform detailed patient assessments and respond rapidly to changes in condition
• Administer medications treatments and advanced critical care interventions
• Collaborate with physicians respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary care teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
• Support patient safety initiatives and evidence-based care practices
• Float to additional units based on patient census and staffing needs

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 5 years of acute critical care nursing experience
• Level II trauma critical care experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience caring for neuro/trauma ICU patients required

• Strong experience with advanced neurocritical care equipment and procedures
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced high-acuity environments
• Excellent critical thinking and emergency response skills
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork abilities
