RN Neuro Trauma ICU (NTICU) Night Shift Contract Assignment Position Overview
A Level II Trauma Center in California is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit (NTICU) contract assignment on the night shift. This position involves caring for high-acuity neuro and trauma patients in a specialized critical care environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive acute critical care and Level II trauma experience along with the ability to float to multiple units as needed.
Schedule & Assignment Details- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night Shift (NOC)
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts with a 7:00 PM start time
- Holiday coverage required
- Floating to Cardiovascular Unit Telemetry Care Unit ICU/CCU and Med/Surg units may be required
- 12-bed Neuro Trauma/Surgical ICU
- 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Specialized care for neuro and trauma patients
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing for neuro and trauma ICU patients
- Monitor and manage patients with ICP monitors CRRT therapy and lumbar drains
- Perform detailed patient assessments and respond rapidly to changes in condition
- Administer medications treatments and advanced critical care interventions
- Collaborate with physicians respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
- Support patient safety initiatives and evidence-based care practices
- Float to additional units based on patient census and staffing needs
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 5 years of acute critical care nursing experience
- Level II trauma critical care experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience caring for neuro/trauma ICU patients required
- Strong experience with advanced neurocritical care equipment and procedures
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced high-acuity environments
- Excellent critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork abilities
