POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Associate Director of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment will provide comprehensive leadership and strategic direction for all district-wide academic programs and processes. This pivotal role involves the oversight of curriculum development and review the implementation of a balanced assessment system ensuring instructional alignment with established standards and directing ongoing professional learning initiatives to support high-quality teaching and learning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Masters degree or higher in educational leadership instruction or a closely related discipline
- A minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrated record of successful K-12 curriculum development
- Proven experience in improving academic programming through data-driven results
- Experience in designing developing and delivering professional development in K-12 settings
- Required expertise in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and K-12 instructional frameworks
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated organizational capabilities
- Proficiency in utilizing data management and analysis tools (e.g. Skyward Excel Google SuiteRenaissance DnA eduCLIMBER etc.)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide leadership and direction in the development implementation and coordination of JK-12 curriculum instruction and assessment across the district.
- Ensure instructional programs are consistent effective and aligned with educational best practices through regular collaboration with principals and teachers.
- Direct and promote the integration of research evaluation and best practices into the Districts educational program.
- Oversee all aspects of district-wide assessment data management and student achievement monitoring.
- Lead the JK-12 balanced assessment system encompassing State testing district standardized assessments local common assessment development and classroom formative assessment.
- Collect analyze and report data related to instructional programs and student achievement for both internal and external audiences.
- Promote and streamline communication coordination and collaborative support across all school levels from Pre-K through post-secondary.
- Plan and implement professional learning activities for teachers and administrators focused on curriculum instruction and assessment.
- Provide leadership to assigned district committees and instructional coaches as needed.
- Collaborate with Student Support Services to coordinate Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) effectively to ensure all student needs are met.
- Collaborate with Technology Services to effectively utilize instructional technology and data systems.
- Assist the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching Learning and Technology in the supervision of secondary building principals and related processes as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching Learning and Technology.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Masters Degree or higher.
LANGUAGE MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS:Ability to speak and write to apply mathematical concepts to practical to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
