Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect (SA) to join our thriving technical community and growing business in Switzerland. You will be part of the Financial Services Enterprise team leading technical strategy and innovation across strategic financial services customers. As a senior member of our Solutions Architecture team youll drive transformational innovation for large enterprise financial services customers at the forefront of emerging technologies guiding customers through their journey to adopt agentic AI workloads generative AI applications and intelligent automation that reshape how financial institutions operate and serve their customers.

In this role youll leverage the full breadth of AWS cloud technologies to design scalable secure and compliant architectures that accelerate digital transformation across multiple markets. Youll champion innovation by identifying opportunities to apply agentic systems machine learning operations and modern application patterns that deliver measurable business outcomes. Working closely with C-level executives and technical leaders across the region youll translate complex business challenges into cloud-native solutions that drive competitive advantage in the rapidly evolving financial services landscape.

Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Solutions Architect youll provide technical leadership to customers in Switzerland taking ownership of strategic customer relationships and driving architectural excellence across the region. Youll provide expert recommendations on solution design migration strategies security and best-practice architectures with a focus on modern cloud-native patterns and AI-driven innovation. Your influence will extend beyond customer interactions as a trusted advisoryoull architect solutions that leverage agentic systems machine learning operations and intelligent automation to deliver measurable business outcomes and competitive advantage.

Youll serve as a technical thought leader mentoring Solutions Architects across the region and elevating the technical capabilities of the broader team. Youll act as an internal advocate driving continuous improvements to the AWS platform based on customer needs and feedback particularly in emerging areas like generative AI agentic workloads and industry-specific innovation. Youll contribute to the AWS knowledge base by creating and sharing best practices technical content new reference architectures and reusable artifacts that advance the state of cloud adoption in financial services (e.g. white papers code samples blog posts on AI/ML implementations agentic architecture patterns).

Additionally youll play a crucial role in educating and evangelizing about AWS technology and innovation through various channels helping to expand our reach and influence across Europe Central (e.g. through workshops user groups meetups public speaking online videos or conferences). Youll champion the adoption of transformative technologies including generative AI agentic AI systems and modern application architectures that enable financial institutions to innovate at scale.

You are an experienced technology leader who brings strong business acumen and a builder mindset with the ability to move fast experiment and drive innovation in rapidly evolving domains. You excel at translating complex business challenges into cloud-native solutions and have a proven track record of implementing emerging technologies like Generative AI and Agentic AI in enterprise contexts. As a Senior SA youll demonstrate deep technical expertise while also providing strategic guidance that shapes the future of financial services across the region. - 10 years of hands-on experience in specific technology domains (e.g. cloud architecture systems design software development machine learning or data engineering and analytics)
- 7 years of experience as a developer application architect or technical leader at financial services companies (banking capital markets or fintech) or consulting
- Hands-on experience implementing generative AI agentic AI or machine learning solutions in an enterprise context
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks LLM integration and building intelligent autonomous agents
- Experience engaging with both business and IT decision-makers including C-level stakeholders driving strategic initiatives and innovation agendas
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German or French with business-fluent English
- - 10 years of hands-on experience in specific technology domains (e.g. Cloud Architecture Solution Architecture Systems Design Software Development Machine Learning or Data Engineering & Analytics)
- - 7 years of experience as a developer application architect or technical leader at Financial Services companies (Banking Capital Markets or FinTech) or Consulting for Financial Services companies
- - Demonstrated experience designing and implementing modern scalable architectures that drive business transformation at enterprise scale
- - Proven track record of leading complex multi-stakeholder technical initiatives across multiple organizations or regions
- - Experience engaging with both Business and IT decision makers including C-Level stakeholders driving strategic initiatives and innovation agendas
- - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German or French with business-fluent English

- Deep expertise with AWS technologies and cloud-native architectures including serverless containers microservices patterns and distributed systems
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing modern scalable architectures that drive business transformation at enterprise scale
- Proven track record of leading complex multi-stakeholder technical initiatives across multiple organisations or regions
- Proven track record of driving innovation and adopting emerging technologies in production environments
- Strong understanding of financial services regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks across multiple markets
- Cloud technology certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Professional) or other industry certifications
