The psychiatry department provides treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions and supports evidence-based psychiatric care psychotherapy services medication management and integrated treatment planning.
Position Summary
The organization is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to join its psychiatric services team in Middletown Connecticut.
This is a Per Diem position offering flexibility while providing meaningful clinical work in a collaborative behavioral health setting. The psychiatrist will participate in the diagnosis treatment and ongoing management of patients requiring psychiatric care and will work alongside interdisciplinary clinical teams nursing staff therapists and support personnel.
Physicians with strong clinical communication skills and an interest in comprehensive psychiatric care are encouraged to apply.
Evaluate diagnose and treat patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
Conduct psychiatric assessments mental status evaluations and treatment planning
Provide individual and group psychotherapy as appropriate
Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications and other treatment modalities
Participate in daily patient rounds and ongoing care management
Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams to coordinate patient care
Review and maintain accurate patient documentation within the EMR system
Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing and allied healthcare staff
Participate in case discussions quality initiatives and patient care planning meetings
Respond to patient family and visitor inquiries regarding treatment plans and progress
Assist with crisis intervention and management of complex psychiatric cases as needed
Qualifications
Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board Status: Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Psychiatry
Licensure: Eligible for Connecticut medical licensure
Training: Completion of at least one year of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency program
Experience: Prior psychiatric clinical experience preferred but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply
Additional Requirements: Must maintain eligibility for participation in federal healthcare programs
