Job Title: LVN / LPN Medical Surgical
Location: Rochester NY 14626
Job Type: Contract 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift 3x12 Hours
Shift Timing: 07:00 AM 07:00 PM
Weekly Hours: 36 Hours
About the Role:
Seeking an experienced LVN/LPN to support a Med/Surg overflow telemetry unit providing care for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Unit Details:
14-bed Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit
Supports ED boarder and general Med/Surg admissions
EPIC EMR system utilized
Floating required within Med/Surg areas
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Scrub Color: Navy Blue / White
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in Med/Surg Telemetry environment
Monitor vital signs and report patient condition changes
Assist with admissions transfers and discharges
Perform wound care and dressing changes
Administer medications and basic treatments
Support feeding tube Foley catheter GI and respiratory care
Monitor intake/output and document in EPIC
Assist with mobility hygiene and ADLs
Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy as required
Communicate changes in patient status promptly to RN/MD
Maintain compliance with hospital safety and care standards
Requirements & Preferred Skills:
Active NY State LPN/LVN License required
Minimum 1 year Med/Surg or related nursing experience required
EPIC charting experience required
Hospital-based patient care experience preferred
Comfortable working in overflow and telemetry-support environments
Willingness to float within Med/Surg units required
Strong bedside nursing and communication skills
BLS certification required
First-time travelers accepted
