1. Advise on all aspects of UK EU and Military transport legislation / policy affecting the management control and use of road transport. 2. Act as inspecting officer for Logistic Sopport Inspections; including the compiling of reports advisory visits and the monitoring of remedial action. 3. Advise on driver training standards driver licensing and testing Blue Light driver trg and act as the focal point to Defence Schools and Capability Directorates. Conduct technical assessments on civilian contractors who provide training and monitor their performance. 4. Provide technical advice on Movements Drivers Hours Workplace Transport Safety Health and Safety at Work and the movement of Dangerous Goods by road. 5. Provide advice and analysis of road traffic collision data trends and remedial action. Formulate the MAB Road Safety Policy and Plan. Act as MABs representative to various Defence / Comd / Unit Road Safety committees. 6. Represent MAB on MOD / Defence / Comd and other external meetings as required. Liaising with TRAs CDs CAA&Is FLCs TDA RSTs Tpt Policy and DES DTs on driver commander and crew training and other vehicle related matters. 7. Deliver assurance of DSAT compliance for driver / mobility training standards where MAB is the TRA. Engage and liaise with OGD OEM MAB Cap branches and other agencies in the trials and development of training and use of future platforms to meet specific SORs. 8. Deploy as required to undertake inspection / audit / validation of driving / mobility training standards and lessons identified. 9. Produce written / verbal briefs reports and develop policy for Road Transport related matters to the CoC and carry out other tasks as directed by SO1 J4 SQM. |
