The Automation Engineering Intern is responsible for hands-on development integration and testing of automation and control solutions for fluid handling systems in a lab-based agile environment. This role will rapidly iterate with a crossfunctional engineering team building wiring troubleshooting electromechanical systems and supporting control loop implementation and documentation.

This position is part of the R&D Organization located in Marlborough MA and will be an on-site role.

What you will do:

- Develop integrate and test automation and control systems in a handson lab environment

- Build wire and troubleshoot electromechanical systems including pumps valves actuators and instrumentation

- Assist with control loop implementation and tuning for flow pressure and level applications

- Support sprintbased agile development with rapid iteration and clear technical documentation

- Collaborate closely with mechanical electrical automation and application engineering teams

Who you are:

- Pursuing a degree in Automation Electrical Mechanical Mechatronics Engineering or a related field

- Strong fundamentals in electromechanical and fluid systems including pumps valves sensors and actuators

- Basic understanding of feedback control systems and PID control concepts

- Comfortable working handson in a labcentric experimental environment

- Able to learn quickly and contribute effectively in small collaborative sprintdriven teams

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

- Exposure to industrial automation platforms (e.g. Emerson DeltaV Siemens) and core DCS/PLC concepts including control modules function blocks alarms and batch or statebased control

- Understanding of instrumentation signals (420 mA digital I/O) industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus PROFIBUS) and basic diagnostics/troubleshooting

- Experience with lab testing data logging control system commissioning or relevant biology/bioprocessing concepts

The hourly range for this role is $20.00 - $30.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
