Position Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Columbia MO
Employment Type: Contract / Travel
Duration: 12 Weeks
Shift: Monday Friday 7:30 AM 4:00 PM
On-Call: Required (Weeknights & Weekends)
Job Summary:
Support physicians in minimally invasive image-guided procedures including Neuro IR and GI embolization cases while ensuring patient safety sterile technique and high-quality imaging support in both routine and emergency settings.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in interventional radiology procedures (routine and emergency)
- Maintain sterile field and infection control protocols
- Review patient history imaging orders allergies and NPO status
- Educate patients on procedure risks and post-care instructions
- Operate imaging equipment for high-quality diagnostic guidance
- Administer contrast under radiologist supervision (if applicable)
- Monitor patient vitals and respond to adverse reactions
- Manage procedural supplies medications and equipment readiness
- Maintain documentation in EMR and PACS systems
- Follow radiation safety and ALARA standards
- Collaborate with radiologists nurses and care teams
- Provide BLS-level emergency support when needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years Interventional Radiology experience required
- Required experience in Neuro IR and GI embolization
- ARRT (R) required OR advanced certification (VI CV CI) or RCIS
- Strong sterile technique and radiation safety knowledge
- Experience in high-acuity procedural environments required
- Ability to work in emergency and fast-paced settings
Preferred:
- Advanced vascular and neurointerventional experience
- Strong EMR and PACS documentation skills
- Excellent patient communication skills
