Assistant Coach Women's Basketball, University Athletics

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coaching: assist with preparing student-athletes for competition by providing skill development and instruction in individual settings group workouts team workouts practices and competition
• Recruiting: assists with signing qualified student-athletes who fit the mission and vision of the university and help improve the womens basketball program by identifying evaluating and building relationships with prospects and coaches across the country
• Travel: coordinates all aspects of team travel and staff travel for recruiting and professional development
• Scheduling: maintains team schedules and facility schedules for womens basketball using appropriate software and working with other members of athletic department
• Budgeting: maintains real-time budget expenditure documents for travel and recruiting and performs expense reporting for womens basketball program
• Supervision: Supervise where applicable graduate managers and managers. Should be able to lead in a way that exhibits Christian character promotes teamwork and encourages a positive efficient work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in coaching collegiate basketball and/or high school basketball
• Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with Synergy Sports Sports Code Fastdraw Teamworks and ARI software
• Must be self-motivated with attention to detail and accuracy
• Lots of nights and overnight travel throughout the year

Preferences:

• Experience at Lipscomb University or like institutions
• Three (3) years of experience in coaching collegiate basketball and/or high school basketball
• Masters Degree in Sports Administration Coaching Education or a Behavioral Science
• Enthusiastic:Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interest
