- Local Rate: Up to $3637.50/week (based on experience)
- Travel Rate: Up to $4178/week (based on experience)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support leadership operations within a busy Labor & Delivery unit in Brooklyn NY. This role is ideal for a nursing leader with a strong background in maternal-child health clinical operations and patient-centered care.
The ADON will assist in overseeing departmental operations staff performance quality initiatives and regulatory compliance while promoting a collaborative and supportive clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily operations of the Labor & Delivery department
- Ensure delivery of safe high-quality patient care and clinical excellence
- Supervise and support nursing staff including RNs Charge Nurses and ancillary team members
- Coordinate staffing scheduling onboarding and staff development activities
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies state regulations and accreditation standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes
- Address patient and family concerns professionally and compassionately
- Foster a positive team-oriented workplace culture
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) or related healthcare field preferred
Experience
- Minimum 57 years of Labor & Delivery or Maternal Child Health experience required
- At least 3 years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Current AHA BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- NRP Certification required
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification preferred
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of Labor & Delivery and high-risk obstetric care
- Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with staffing systems and healthcare operations
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Commitment to compassionate patient-focused care and teamwork
