REQUIRED LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES
1. Communication: Strong written and verbal skills are demonstrated in reports correspondence and presentations. Ensures staff are kept informed of Medical Center and departmental priorities. Communicates vision statement and goals and demonstrates commitment toward their achievement.
2. Professional Development: Participates in conferences workshops and other professional development activities to maintain licensure and/or remain professionally current with advances in field of expertise.
3. Staff Development: Ensures staff receive mandated in servicing in Safety Quality Assurance Risk Management Customer Service Infection Control and any other in-service that may apply.
4. Problem Solving: Recommendations and decision making reflect strong analytical skills and focus on quality cost containment and impact of change on other departments.
5. Customer Service Management: Incorporates the Medical Centers Customer Service goals in developing and/or revising departmental policies and systems. Continually reviews the service delivery process to exceed customer expectations. Is perceived as a role model by staff peers in customer service leadership.
6. Project Management: Participates in multidisciplinary task forces committees and projects demonstrating team spirit and ability to work with different internal customers. When leading a project team demonstrates the ability to bring together different views and skills toward timely and effective completion of project objectives.
7. Clinical Leadership: Clinical management staff provide clinical supervision. Provide in-service training and maintenance of clinical standards. May provide leadership for hospital-wide clinically oriented committees
Responsibilities:
Management team lead for all central pharmacy operations including prescription processing sterile compounding purchasing repackaging scheduling and automated dispensing cabinet usage.
Ensures accurate and timeline provision of medications. Directs coordinates and participates in the design collection and reporting of departmental benchmarks for productivity and performance.
Ensures all patient care provided meets or exceeds all regulations statutes and TJC standards. Participates on interdisciplinary teams and committees.
Assists in developing departmental policies and procedures reviews policies and procedures manuals periodically to ensure they are in compliance with requirements of regulatory agencies; recommends changes as required by changes in regulatory agency policies and requirements.
Actively participates in the provision of training and education to pharmacy staff on new or modified workflows regulations or equipment. Serves as pharmacy resource to other departments by assisting with training and education related to new medications or changes in organizational medication management Policy & Procedures.
Participates in departmental management operations including scheduling staff performance reviews hiring processes staff training systems implementations/changes and alignment of departmental operations with organizational goals.
Identifies defines develops and implements new or expands existing process improvement initiatives and medication safety initiatives.
Builds effective relationships with other healthcare professionals and departments within the hospital. Promotes clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care through the development of new (or expansion of existing) pharmacy practice programs and drug therapy policies.
Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy services. Demonstrates knowledge of pathophysiology interpretation of diagnostic criteria pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics.
Maintains currency and competency in the literature of pharmacy practice and health care research and development.
Proficiency in assessing the use and application of new medications and medication technology including complex equipment and delivery systems.
Provides leadership and serves as a resource to pharmacists within the institution.

Position Qualifications:
Current NJ registration as a licensed Pharmacist required.
Mixed practice experience in Hospital pharmacy Retail pharmacy and/or LTC Pharmacy preferred.
Previous experience with in Allscripts Paragon Liberty Software and/or FrameworkLTC preferred.
Experience and Expertise in sterile and non-sterile compounding required.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Speaks reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
Computer literacy comfort with all levels of technology a must.
Previous pharmacy leadership role preferred.
Education:
Doctorate in Pharmacy from an approved college of pharmacy or equivalent required
Salary commensurate with experience within posted range:
$160000 to $185000 annually
