Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Hilo HI

Job Type: Contract 13 Weeks
Shift: Variable Day & Night Shifts
Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts 36 Hours/Week after Orientation
On-Call: One scheduled 12-hour on-call shift per month

Unit Details:

• Labor & Delivery: 8 Labor Beds

• Postpartum Unit: 18 Beds

About the Role:
Seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to provide high-quality maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for laboring and postpartum patients

• Assist physicians during labor and delivery procedures

• Monitor maternal and fetal conditions using fetal monitoring systems

• Provide newborn assessment and immediate post-delivery care

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered

• Respond to maternal or fetal condition changes appropriately

• Educate patients and families regarding labor recovery and newborn care

• Maintain accurate EMR documentation

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

• Participate in patient safety and quality initiatives

Requirements & Preferred Skills:

• Active RN license required

• Minimum 3 years recent Labor & Delivery experience required

• BLS certification required

• NRP certification required

• Strong maternal/newborn assessment and critical care skills

• STABLE certification preferred

• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification preferred

• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred

• Experience with GE/Centricity fetal monitoring preferred
