Job Summary

Description

This person is responsible for directing and coordinating programs and services which include but are not limited to Mental Health Education Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Suicide Prevention Awareness Sexual Assault Domestic Violence Dating Violence and Stalking Prevention Motivational Interviewing Program Student Health and Wellness Initiatives Smoking Cessation Cold and Flu Prevention Nutrition Sexual Health Sleep Promotion and Stress Reduction. The Center for Student Wellbeing works with all university departments students and community organizations to increase awareness and decrease risk to overall health and wellness



Responsibilities

Management:

  • Provide direction for the Center for Student Wellbeings Administrative Assistant Assistant Directors Interns and Graduate Assistants
  • Working closely with the Chief Health Affairs Officer and the Director of Business Affairs for the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs manage and if needed revise all budgets accounts and grant funding for the center
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Outreach:

  • Coordinate Residence Life trainings (AOD Step UP! & MH and Columbia Scale)
  • Coordinate campus-wide trainings such as but not limited to: UTC Step UP Bystander Intervention program Sexual Misconduct and Relationship Violence Training Opioid Overdose Reversal Training and Suicide Prevention (QPR & Assist/Columbia Scale)

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with relevant university coalitions and committees and serve as liaison within the campus for holistic wellness
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships between key campus and community stakeholders to advance wellness initiatives
  • Represent the Center for Student Wellbeing on various campus committees and through volunteering at campus events collaborate with closely aligned departments on co-sponsored initiatives and programs.
  • Oversee UTC Wellness Advisory Council (Be Well initiative)

Assessment/Planning:

  • Create a culture of assessment
  • Complete the Biennial Review for federal compliance to Edgar 86 and submit
  • Oversee appropriate campus surveys (i.e. Healthy Minds Survey and ACHA-National College Health Assessment (NCHA)) using data to advance wellness initiatives
  • Manage the four-year strategic planning process with JED Campus
  • Develop manage and monitor strategic plan and direction of the Center
  • Develop review and evaluate the strategic priorities for the Center and for EMSA
  • Participate as an active member of the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs

Dissemination:

  • Disseminate information on the work and progress of the Center to the University and at local regional and national meetings and conferences

Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge/experience in health promotion prevention social change models/principles mental health crisis response suicide prevention
  • Outstanding communication (written and oral) interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and implement campus/community process or program
  • Sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively and effectively lead and facilitate campus and community partnerships

Compensation and Benefits:

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:Requires a Masters degree in Public Health Health Education Social Work Counseling Behavioral Sciences or related field.

A minimum of two years of experience in education or closely related setting.

Preferred Qualifications:Supervisory experience with relationship to mental health/counseling or similar services.
