Job Summary
The Inspector will be a key member of the Bryant Construction Management Team in our Louisville KY office where he/she willinspect job sites fora wide range of public and private sector clients to enable their successful completion. Work will be done in support of our multi-disciplinary Survey Engineering (Site/Civil Structural and Traffic) and Construction Management firm.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Inspector will perform on-site inspection of water/storm water and/or roadway and site work jobs. Work is carried out with considerable independence and requires thorough knowledge of appropriate construction practices and codes.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (other duties may be assigned)
- Coordinates work with the contractor
- Monitors contractors activities to determine that they conform/meet design specifications contractual requirements and client standards
- Collect organize and interpret project related data to brief client on project issues and provide possible solutions
- Oversee the measurement and payment of contractors quantities of work performed
- Prepares inspection report of Daily Activities and other reports as needed
- Manages quality and safety of projects and ensures schedules are met
- Produce As-built sketches as required
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Familiarity with trench dewatering backfilling and compaction of utility trenches and pavement/surface restoration
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents for desired infrastructure rehabilitation replacement and upgrades
- Detail oriented
- Problem solver
- Strong interpersonal skills. Able to build and maintain strong relationships with contractor and staff
- Solid project management and organizational skills
- Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to work in a team environment
- Observes and enforces company and client safety requirements
- Must have a valid drivers license and ability to pass a driving record check
- Ability to pass a drug test
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 10-hour Training and Confined Space Entry certification beneficial. Training will be provided if needed.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Outlook Excel)

TRAVEL:
Local travel to job sites and client meetings as required.
