An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Medical Advisor Oncology in Brussels. This position will be responsible for working with the companys breakthrough oncology innovations in Belgium developing the country medical affairs plan using medical knowledge and customer insights and engaging in non-promotional peer-to-peer scientific communication.
The role is office-based with field-directed activities and focuses on education data generation and sharing and implementing programs that provide balanced data to external stakeholders scientific leaders key decision makers and the wider medical community with patients as the ultimate beneficiaries. You will report to the Therapeutic Area Lead Oncology and join a team of six medical advisors.
Our Medical Affairs team advances patient care through scientific exchange with external medical experts and industry leaders ensuring the scientific value of our products is understood. We connect communicate and train internal colleagues to ensure a thorough understanding of the science behind our medicines and identify unmet medical needs to support collaboration and further differentiate our portfolio.
What you will do:
Bring energy knowledge innovation and leadership to carry out the following:
- Develop and execute the country Medical Affairs Plan (cMAP) with strategically aligned tactics and activities
- Collect analyze and translate external stakeholder insights to inform external communication and provide medical advice to commercial market access clinical and regulatory teams
- Deliver scientifically balanced non-promotional medical education for the therapeutic area
- Implement investigator-initiated and local epidemiologic or (non-)interventional data-generation projects that address unmet medical needs and data gaps
- Collaborate with local Global Clinical Trial Operations (GCTO) and investigators to identify and enable new phase 13 study opportunities in the country
- Represent Medical Affairs at local and regional congresses and symposia working closely with Market Access External Affairs and Marketing
What skills you will need:
In order to excel in this role you will more than likely have:
- MD PharmD or PhD degree in Life Sciences (required)
- 23 years experience in medical affairs or clinical research within the pharmaceutical industry; experience in immuno-oncology is considered
- Scientific knowledge in oncology is a plus
- Solid understanding of clinical trial methodology and interpretation of clinical data
- Sound scientific and clinical judgment with a strong willingness to learn
- Proven ability to work as a team player and to network across matrixed organizations
- Proactive can do attitude and passion for the therapeutic area
- Strong customer-facing skills including active listening and effective probing
- Confident presentation and communication skills; fluent in English and either French or Dutch (strong preference for candidates fluent in all three)
