Your Opportunity
Intensive Family Support (IFS) is an early intervention service supporting families with children aged 018 who are at risk of entering the child protection system. The service focuses on improving child safety strengthening families and creating lasting change.
In this specialist role youll provide expert D&FV practice leadership while also working directly with families facing complex challenges. Your knowledge and guidance will support strong safe practice across the team and help reduce the need for statutory child protection involvement.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist D&FV advice coaching and practice leadership to the IFS team.
- Strengthen team capability through training reflective practice and practice guidance.
- Support high-quality traumainformed strengthsbased and clientcentred case management.
- Work directly with families including home visits to develop and implement effective case plans.
- Complete risk assessment and safety planning using the Common Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework.
- Deliver culturally safe practice particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
- Build strong partnerships with community services and key stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and service learning.
Requirements for Success
You will bring strong experience in child protection and/or child youth and family services with specialist D&FV expertise along with:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work Social Sciences Psychology or a related discipline (highly regarded).
- Knowledge of the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act and Child Protection Act.
- Experience delivering traumainformed culturally responsive practice with diverse families.
- Confidence supporting practitioners in complex and highrisk situations.
- Strong risk assessment crisis response and safety planning skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Confidence using case management systems and Microsoft Office.
- A personcentred approach.
- Full driver licence with no restrictions.
Before starting work with us you will need to undertake a national police history check qualifications and referee checks and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
