About the team

Our finance team is responsible for shaping our understanding of how Stripe is performing as a business as well as what our best opportunities are for continued growth. Were looking for an experienced financial controller to join our International Accounting team. As a key part of our controllership team in Singapore youll help us build our technical accounting and financial reporting processes work with business partners financial partners external stakeholders and our world-class engineers. Youll help us develop best-in-class accounting processes and help track our progress within a fast-paced environment thats growing globally.

What youll do

Responsibilities

• Lead financial close processesManage the monthly close of US GAAP books and local books including balance sheet reconciliations supporting schedules fluctuation analysis and other reporting deliverables.
• Statutory audit processOwn the end-to-end statutory audit process including the financial statement preparation under relevant local GAAP technical memos and audit support culminating in presentations to the board of directors for the assigned entities.
• Technical expertiseMaintain fluency with US GAAP and IFRS research document and drive the necessary technical accounting memos.
• Cross-functional collaborationParticipate in cross-functional projects for new initiatives and partner effectively with Tax Transfer Pricing Treasury Corporate Accounting Regulatory Compliance and Legal teams on diverse projects or to support financial decision-making.
• Outsourcing managementCarefully supervise finance outsourcing partners to ensure they meet compliance and filing requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
• Process efficiencyDrive improvement on the existing processes through finance transformation initiatives and automation projects including AI identification recommendation and implementation.
• Regulatory compliancePrepare regulatory and statistical returns or surveys to the regulators or government agencies and stay informed on changes in accounting and tax regulations.
• Tax reviewWork closely with the tax team to ensure local entity tax compliance and provide accounting support for tax audits and reviews.
• Business supportSupport new product and entity launches where technical accounting advice is required.
• BudgetingSupport budgeting forecasting actuals and variance analysis of the finance outsourcing partners.

Who you are

Minimum requirements

• Experience8 years of professional accounting experience preferably with a large accounting firm audit background
• Systems proficiencyExcellent knowledge of accounting systems (e.g. Oracle or equivalent) and experience in AI automation
• Audit knowledgeExperience handling large audits (central and local teams) statutory reporting and tax compliance. Experience with Workiva FS preparation.
• Accounting expertiseStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS
• Project managementDemonstrated success in managing cross-functional initiatives
• Communication skillsExcellent written and verbal communication in English
• AdaptabilityFlexible with changing requirements in a fast-paced and growing environment with the ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently
• CertificationQualified accountant with accounting certification such as ACCA CA or equivalent Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Problem solverStrong passion for solving complex challenges
