Whitby Heath Primary School are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic teacher to join our team from September 2026 until April 2027 for a maternity cover. The successful candidate will have demonstrated:

• Experience and knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the Reception curriculum
• Highly effective teaching and learning strategies including purposeful play high-quality interactions and responsive provision

• A strong understanding of early reading phonics communication and language development
• Determination to enable all learners to succeed and ensure they achieve their full potential
• A commitment to professional development evidence-informed research and cognitive science
• Excellent classroom management and effective deployment of support staff

• An ability to work effectively and contribute positively as part of a team

You should make very clear on your application your experience in Early Years and/or other relevant year groups and how this experience makes you ready for a Reception teaching post in our school. Applications will be considered from candidates with a range of experience.
