- is seeking a Safety Health and Environmental Engineer!

AEGIS is seeking a customerfocused missiondriven Safety Health and Environmental Engineer to join our team of highly skilled professionals supporting NASA this role you will play a critical part in ensuring safe compliant and efficient work environments across a variety of technical and missionessential activities.

You will collaborate daily with motivated engineering and operations personnel in a collegial teamoriented environment while providing expert oversight in environmental compliance occupational health safety programs and facility risk mitigation. Your responsibilities include driving safety initiatives conducting hazard and compliance assessments supporting launch processing activities and partnering with NASA customers to maintain the highest standards of workplace safety and mission readiness. You will also contribute to the strategic direction and continuous improvement of safety performance across all supported areas.

This position requires a resultsoriented individual with exceptional communication analytical and presentation skills to help deliver both programlevel and customerfacing safety metrics reporting and analysis.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead daytoday safety oversight including onsite work observations hazard identification and launch processing safety support.

  • Conduct incident and injury investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce risk and prevent recurrence.

  • Perform annual and quarterly facility safety inspections and maintain required OSHA safety records including OSHA 300 logs.

  • Serve as the RF and Laser Radiation Safety Officer and Fall Protection Competent Person ensuring compliance with all applicable safety standards and certifications.

  • Coordinate industrial hygiene assessments such as heat stress monitoring indoor air quality evaluations asbestos reviews and noise surveys.

  • Conduct ergonomic assessments across office and industrial environments to prevent workplacerelated injuries.

  • Review work orders and maintenance requests to identify safety risks and ensure controls are in place prior to task execution.

  • Oversee highlevel environmental compliance activities including required reporting environmental data call submissions and maintenance of core environmental plans.

  • Support environmental programs related to hazardous and regulated waste spill reporting and wasteminimization efforts.

  • Participate in NASA safety groups environmental partnering teams and internal and external audits.

  • Provide safety support to Verification & Validation activities on trackers and communication systems as needed.

Please Note:

  • One will need to work onsite in Kennedy Space Center FL.

  • This role supports a non-traditional schedule: WednesdaySunday.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering Environmental Engineering Industrial Hygiene Occupational Safety & Health OR in a related field with 2 years of relevant experience OR Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience

  • Experience supporting safety health or environmental compliance programs in an engineering industrial aerospace or government environment.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations safety hazard controls and workplace riskassessment practices.

  • Familiarity with environmental compliance principles such as hazardous waste management spill reporting or sustainability programs.

  • Ability to conduct inspections investigations and assessments with strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver safety findings reports and briefings to customers and leadership.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering operations and mission support teams in a fastpaced safetycritical environment.

  • U.S. Citizenship (required for access to NASA facilities and systems).

  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desired Certifications / Training.

  • OSHA 30/40 hour.

Please Note: The program budget salary for this role could fall anywhere between high $80000 to low $105000 with a slight wiggle room (no guarantees) based on relevant experience and assessment. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
