Job Summary
Position Summary:
The Office Receptionist/ Clerk is the first point of contact for all Public Health customers. This position is responsible for providing customers with information for all Public Health services including Clinical services Environmental Health services and vital records. Responsibilities included collecting customer information and ensuring that proper paperwork is completed. Assist in OHP client enrollment. Non-Exempt Union Hourly
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Must be able to obtain a valid Drivers License and CPR Certification.
Experience:
Prior clerical experience in a medical setting preferred. Experience with Microsoft Suite computer software (Excel Word Outlook) preferred.
Job Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Strong computer skills and experience in navigating web-based portals/databases. Requires strong organizational skills initiative and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and HIPAA. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw in interpret bar graphs. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
