Occupational Therapist (OT)
Location: Cumming GA
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist for an Acute Care hospital setting supporting patients across multiple medical and surgical specialties. The ideal candidate will have recent acute care experience and be comfortable treating a diverse patient population including ICU neurological orthopedic and medically complex patients.
Both local and travel candidates are accepted for this opportunity.
Assignment Details
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts
- Standard Schedule:
- Sunday
- Monday
- Tuesday
- Friday
Shift Options
- 7:00 AM 5:30 PM
- 8:00 AM 6:30 PM
- Schedule may vary based on department needs
Weekend & Holiday Requirements
- 4 weekend shifts required every 4 weeks
- Holiday coverage required
Department Overview
- Acute Care Occupational Therapy Department
- Supports patients throughout the hospital based on physician orders
Patient Population
- ICU patients
- Stroke and neurological patients
- Orthopedic patients
- General debility and medically complex patients
- Medical and surgical acute care diagnoses
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with functional limitations and rehabilitation needs
- Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic interventions focused on mobility ADLs strength cognition and functional independence
- Collaborate with physicians nursing staff and interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans and adaptive strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within Cerner
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 1518 months of recent Occupational Therapy experience within specialty required
- Acute Care experience strongly preferred
Certifications & Licensure
- Active Georgia OT license required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
EMR Experience
- One Chart / Cerner experience preferred
