Job Summary
The University of Lynchburg a private regional university in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia is seeking applicants for two tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor positions in the Exercise Physiology program. Job Purpose: The University of Lynchburg School of Medicine and Health Sciences is seeking candidates for two tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor positions in the Exercise Physiology program. Candidates must be motivated individuals with a passion for teaching undergraduate students. The Exercise Physiology program is dedicated to excellence in pedagogy scholarship and professional service. Job Specific Duties:
- Teach undergraduate courses in the Exercise Physiology program
- Supervise and mentor student research projects
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Exercise Physiology department on curriculum development
- Applying best practices to facilitate teaching and learning processes and principles with a commitment to continuous quality improvement
- Documenting student learning interpreting outcomes and recording grades.
- Assisting with student recruitment admission and retention.
- Maintaining accurate and appropriate student instructor course and program documentation.
- Establishing and maintaining professional and ethical boundaries with students co-workers and others in all learning environments.
- Participating in University service and events.
- Perform other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Dean.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications/Education:
- A Masters with 18 graduate credit hours in Exercise Physiology Kinesiology or related field is required; PhD is preferred. ABD candidates will be considered.
- Professional certification such as ACSM-EP or NSCA-CSCS
- A primary interest in teaching undergraduates at a liberal arts institution is a must.
- Previous teaching experience is desired.

Teaching Load:
- The normal teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester
Salary: Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience
