Inpatient Clinical Dietitian (Full-Time)

We have an opportunity for aRegistered Clinical Dietitianto join our this role you will provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to patients develop nutrition-related care plans and provide nutrition education to staff children and families.

Schedule:Monday - Friday generally 8am - 5pm

What Youll Do

Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)

• Perform comprehensive individualized nutrition assessments using the Nutrition Care Process according to the Standards of Practice in Nutrition Care for RDNs.
• Implement the Nutrition Care Process to ensure individual health/nutritional goals are established monitored and achieved.
• Recommend/prescribe nutrition-related diets diet modifications nutrition support regimens for clients as directed within the organizational/state regulations.
• Provide developmentally appropriate nutrition counseling and education to clients and their families.

Nutrition Education

• Instruct children/clients and their families physician and/or healthcare personnel in principles of nutrition and recommended modifications.
• Counsel children/clients and their families on making recommended changes to improve their quality of life.
• Advise children and their families on nutrition principles dietary plans and modifications and food selection and preparation.

Dietary Oversight

• Formulate individualized menus for therapeutic diets as indicated.
• Coordinate with Dietary Department to ensure adequate staff training and implementation of safe and accurate meals.

What Youll Need

• Required: Related bachelors program. Masters program preferred.
• Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Academy for Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Three years of full-time work as a Registered Dietitian in a healthcare setting required. Pediatric experience required.
• Must be a Licensed Dietitian with the State of Iowa. Board certification as a specialist in pediatric nutrition (CSP) preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading writing and speaking the English language.
