Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced OR Nurse Manager to lead Surgical Services operations within a high-volume acute care hospital setting. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing perioperative departments ensuring high-quality patient care and driving operational efficiency.
The manager will collaborate closely with senior leadership and interdisciplinary teams to support departmental growth maintain clinical excellence and enhance patient outcomes.
Department Overview
10 Operating Rooms (including dedicated OB ORs)
Advanced robotic surgical capabilities
High-volume elective and outpatient surgical programs
Key service lines include Orthopedics Bariatrics and Vascular Surgery
Level III Trauma Facility
Leadership Scope
Oversight of:
Operating Room
Central Sterile
Anesthesia
Surgical First Assists
Approximately 50 direct reports
Team structure includes multiple coordinators
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily operations of Surgical Services departments
Ensure adherence to patient safety standards and evidence-based practices
Manage staffing scheduling hiring onboarding and staff development
Drive workflow efficiency and operational performance
Provide leadership coaching and performance management
Address patient physician and staff concerns professionally
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes
Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
Required Qualifications
Education
Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Licensure & Certifications
Active Tennessee RN License or Compact RN License
BLS certification required
Experience
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a surgical setting
Prior leadership experience required (e.g. Charge Nurse Supervisor or Lead Nurse)
