Registered Nurse Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown
Location: Utica NY
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse with Stroke Stepdown experience for a fast-paced acute care unit. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills prior travel experience and the ability to manage a diverse adult patient population with complex medical conditions.
This role requires flexibility strong assessment skills and experience working in a high-acuity Med/Surg environment utilizing Epic EMR.

Common Diagnoses
- Stroke
- Altered Mental Status
- Renal conditions and Dialysis patients
- COPD
- CHF
- Pneumonia
- Pulmonary conditions
- Isolation patients
- General Medical/Surgical cases
Specialty Equipment
- IV Pumps
- NG Tubes
- Feeding Tubes
Schedule
- Day Shift: 6:30 AM 7:00 PM
- Floating required
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical RN experience required
- Stroke Stepdown experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
Certifications & Licensure
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required (may be obtained prior to start)
- Active New York RN license required
- NURSYS verification required for all active RN licenses
