Ellison 9 is a patient and family-centered 16-bed adult unit serving critically ill cardiac ICU patients. The most common diagnoses and/or interventions are hemodynamic monitoring intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation ventricular assist devices CVVH hypothermia after cardiac arrest recovery from coronary procedures including percutaneous aortic and mitral valve replacement recovery from acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock arrhythmias congestive heart failure respiratory failure and/or multiple organ dysfunction/failure.
Prefer applicants with more than (1) year clinical patient experience and seeking year-round permanent full-time opportunity. Gap year medical students with patient care experience accepted.
Schedule:
Days (7am-7pm) and Nights (7pm-7am)
(3x)12hr shifts per week.
Mandatory weekend shifts every month.

Job Summary
SummaryWorking under the direction of licensed personnel assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing dressing and eating. Also assists with taking patients temperature blood pressure pulse and respiration.

Essential Functions
-Performs vital signs weights/heights intakes and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
-Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
-Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
-Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients helping them use the toilet if needed and feeding them.
-Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.
-Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.
