WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

As the District Manager for Blood Collections mobile units you will oversee collection teams in the Western Nebraska Area ( Grand Island/north Platte and surrounding areas) to ensure the achievement of blood collection goals business initiatives and quality this role you will use your biomedical knowledge logistics/supply chain experience strong leadership skills and the ability to manage union relations to lead our team effectively. You will enforce organizational policies drive production and process improvement in the most cost-effective manner possible while fostering future leadership and collaboration. Your operational mindset and communication skills will be key to driving success and efficiency.

Provide support development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal State and local regulations.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Develop and monitor assigned collections budget to ensure sufficient capacity and effective utilization of resources.
  • Responsible for managing assigned mobile operations and may oversee the use of multiple technologies. Coordinate with multiple department functional areas to ensure achievement of assigned collection goals business initiatives and metrics for quality service excellence and process improvement in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
  • Monitor evaluate and correct donor flow and customer service problems in collaboration with Donor Recruitment to enhance the donor experience and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Manage coach and mentor supervisors and staff in accordance with personnel policies and bargaining unit contracts including performance evaluations disciplinary actions and employment decisions to enhance the success of the operation and minimize turnover.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing is in place to efficiently and effectively run operations. Coordinate department training and/or communication protocols including in-services regulatory requirements and new staff training. Ensure teams successfully perform collections that meet patient need such as right-type mix and demand requirements for the day of week and manufacturing location.
  • May operate ARC vehicles as required including loading set up maintaining and tear down supplies and equipment as required.
  • Ensure effective internal and external communication between all department levels and functions to foster teamwork and enhance operational success.
  • Participate in divisional and national projects
  • Travel: Up to 60% within the region with occasional out-of-state travel for trainings and meetings.

Pay Information: Starting pay for this position is $92332

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned with the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Management Experience: Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively guide and motivate teams.
  • Must have Knowledge of regulatory compliance group dynamics customer maintenance negotiation skills and project management preferred.
  • Experience leading teams in a matrixed organization in a highley regulated environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills ability to handle multiple priorities effectively assimilate information quickly analyze problems and implement appropriate solutions as required.
  • Ability to work independently while developing a functioning team. Must have excellent public relations skills interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staffvolunteers donors and humanitarian partners
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including training presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • A current valid drivers license and good driving record are required.
