Job Summary:The Career Advisor provides comprehensive career development and professional employment services to students and alumni interested in various careers through career-related advising assessment resume approval individual student job search assistance and development and delivery of workshops/classes on a variety of career topics.
Additional Department Summary:Provides career-related advising assessment resume approval individual student job search assistance development and delivery of workshops/classes on a variety of career topics. Functions as a Career Advisor for assigned student and/or Alumni clients. Serves on a variety of related committees. Assists in the outreach to faculty/staff in assigned colleges departments and/or academic program and student organizations. Serves as a liaison to assigned student organizations academic departments and other university departments. Assists with planning development and organization of special events printed materials and web based materials for the Career Center. Maintains knowledge and proficiency with campus recruiting software and career resources. Completes required training that is related to laws and regulations that creates a more hospitable respectful and safer work environment.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher and some experience.
Skills and Knowledge:Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated commitment to supporting all students.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree and three (3) years of experience in career services student services business human resources management or counseling; OR Masters degree and one (1) year experience in career services student services business human resources management or counseling.
