Job Summary
Balanced Body is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Machinist to join our team in a pivotal lead role. This isnt just a check-the-box inspection jobwe need a process-oriented technical expert who can bridge the gap between engineering and production.
You will be the final line of defense for quality utilizing your expertise in manual machining and advanced metrology to ensure every part meets our rigorous standards. This is a dynamic role for a self-directed professional who thrives in a fluid environment and is eager to grow within our QA/QC and Machining departments.
What Youll Do (Areas of Responsibility)
- Precision Machining: Operate and maintain a variety of equipment including manual mills CNC lathes surface grinders laser cutters and shears to produce high-quality prototype parts for engineering.
- Technical Inspection: Conduct comprehensive quality inspections and audits of incoming materials and finished parts.
- Blueprint & Tolerance Analysis: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints to verify dimensional accuracy and part integrity.
- Metrology Mastery: Utilize advanced measuring instruments including calipers micrometers and gages to determine critical dimensional data.
- Data Integrity: Maintain accurate parts and supply inventories within our MRP system reporting and documenting all non-conforming materials.
- Leadership & Safety: Serve as a technical lead ensuring safety protocols (including lock-out tag-out) are strictly followed while prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Who You Are (Requirements)
- Experienced Inspector: Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience dedicated to Quality Inspection in a manufacturing setting.
- Skilled Machinist: Minimum of one (1) year of hands-on experience working in a Machine Shop environment.
- Technically Proficient: Advanced math skills and the ability to perform complex tolerance analysis.
- Detail-Obsessed: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to consistency in following established processes.
- Adaptable Leader: A can-do attitude with the ability to shift priorities quickly and keep up with a high-velocity production schedule.
- Safety-First Mindset: Solid knowledge of proper lock-out tag-out procedures.
- Certified: Forklift certification is a strong plus.
Work Schedule:
This position is onsite and full-time Monday to Friday.
