6A Telemetry & Progressive Care Unit is a dynamic blended unit with 36 total beds:

• 24 Telemetry beds staffed at a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• 12 Progressive Care beds staffed at a 1:4 ratio

Youll care for a diverse patient population including:

• Chest pain arrhythmias post-cardiac caths
• Post-pacemaker or ICD implants
• Respiratory distress renal failure pulmonary embolism
• Vascular interventions requiring high-risk anticoagulation
• Stable post-STEMI patients
• High-level oxygen support IV drips DKA
• Post-op and medical patients requiring enhanced monitoring

How youll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What were looking for

Applicants must have a nursing degree from a nursing school (Bachelors degree preferred). Additional requirements include:

A current VA (or Multi-state) RN license

American Heart Association Basic Life Support

Experience in clinical area preferred

American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire
