Job Summary
Job title: Sr Mainframe Developer
Bill rate: $68/hr
Role is onsite based out of Jersey City NJ
Client address: 575 Washington Blvd Jersey City NJ 07310
Job Description:
- Design develop enhance and support mainframe applications using COBOL JCL DB2 CICS and VSAM.
- Analyze business requirements translate them into technical specifications and deliver high-quality code.
- Perform impact analysis unit testing debugging and performance tuning on mainframe programs.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems and platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues within defined SLAs.
- Participate in code reviews documentation and process improvement initiatives.
- Support migration modernization and optimization efforts as required.
Mandatory Skills
COBOL Strong programming and debugging skills
JCL Expertise in creating modifying and optimizing batch jobs
DB2 Hands-on experience with SQL Stored Procedures and data modeling concepts
CICS Working knowledge of online/transaction processing
VSAM Experience with file structures and performance tuning
Additional Mainframe Skills (Preferred)
- Mainframe utilities: SORT IDCAMS IEBGENER FILE-AID etc.
- Source control tools: Changeman Endevor Expediter or similar
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
- Exposure to production support incident management and change management
- Knowledge of mainframe modernization frameworks or integration with distributed systems Project Code :
