AP Specialist

Salary: $ 62500.00

An established manufacturing company in Northern New Jersey serving highly regulated industries is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support accounting operations in a fast-paced environment. The organization specializes in complex engineered products and values accuracy collaboration and continuous improvement. This opportunity is open to local candidates only.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the A/P Specialist:

#1. 3 years of Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

#2. Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or equivalent experience

#3. Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills

#4. Experience working with ERP systems; Epicor experience strongly preferred

#5. High attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities of the A/P Specialist:

• Process and reconcile vendor invoices and payments
• Print checks process wire transfers and obtain payment approvals
• Match invoices post payments and reconcile customer accounts
• Invoice customers and verify sales order accuracy
• Process customer credits returns and account adjustments
• Maintain and track unearned revenue records
• Reconcile bank deposits and assist with bank reconciliations
• Utilize customer portals for payment verification and posting
• Run aged receivable and commission reports
• Assist with month-end year-end closing and audit support
• Perform revenue and sales analysis as needed
• Maintain organized AP/AR records and documentation
• Collaborate with internal departments on order processing and shipping support
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives

Requirements of the A/P Specialist:

• 3 years of Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or equivalent experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Experience working with ERP systems; Epicor experience strongly preferred
