An established manufacturing company in Northern New Jersey serving highly regulated industries is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support accounting operations in a fast-paced environment. The organization specializes in complex engineered products and values accuracy collaboration and continuous improvement. This opportunity is open to local candidates only.
Prioritized Must Have Skills for the A/P Specialist:
#1. 3 years of Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
#2. Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or equivalent experience
#3. Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
#4. Experience working with ERP systems; Epicor experience strongly preferred
#5. High attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities of the A/P Specialist:
- Process and reconcile vendor invoices and payments
- Print checks process wire transfers and obtain payment approvals
- Match invoices post payments and reconcile customer accounts
- Invoice customers and verify sales order accuracy
- Process customer credits returns and account adjustments
- Maintain and track unearned revenue records
- Reconcile bank deposits and assist with bank reconciliations
- Utilize customer portals for payment verification and posting
- Run aged receivable and commission reports
- Assist with month-end year-end closing and audit support
- Perform revenue and sales analysis as needed
- Maintain organized AP/AR records and documentation
- Collaborate with internal departments on order processing and shipping support
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
Requirements of the A/P Specialist:
- 3 years of Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or equivalent experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience working with ERP systems; Epicor experience strongly preferred
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
