Chief Estimator
Location: Elk River
Job Type: Full-Time On-Site
Compensation: $130000 $185000 per year
We are seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead estimating operations for civil and site construction projects. This role is responsible for managing bid strategy overseeing complex estimates and ensuring accurate and profitable project bids.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the estimating team
- Prepare review and approve complex project estimates
- Develop bid strategies and support bid/no-bid decisions
- Analyze drawings specifications labor material and equipment costs
- Coordinate with project managers subcontractors suppliers and clients
- Monitor market pricing and adjust estimating assumptions
- Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within deadlines
- Support preconstruction and business development activities
- Maintain strong subcontractor and vendor relationships
- 10 years of estimating experience in civil or site construction
- Proven leadership experience managing estimating teams
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating budgeting and bid preparation
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent analytical communication and decision-making skills
- Proven track record of winning profitable work
- Experience with heavy civil or infrastructure projects
- Background in earthwork utilities paving or foundation construction
- Experience using estimating and project management software
