Signing Bonus!!POSITION SUMMARY:The Hydrovac Operator is responsible for following all NSC regulations regarding this position. The Operator is responsible for taking part in daily pre-trips and assessments prior to starting every job. The Operator must follow all Standard Work Procedures (SWP) and will discuss with their supervisor if they are unable to follow Hydrovac Operator is responsible for completing hydro excavation projects including: utility line exposures debris removal slot trenching and digging. While completing hydro excavation projects the Operator will supervise activities of the Hydrovac Swampers assigned to assist them in excavation. Operators will provide leadership and task delegation to the Hydrovac Swampers through coaching and DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Takes part in all pre-job hazard assessments and inspections prior to commencing any with Performance Vac & Tank Services Ltd.s Health and Safety all incidents accidents and/or near misses or equipment damage as soon as they all required PPE for the task at hand and ensuring that it is maintained and in good in all paperwork as required by dispatch administration and the safety federal hours of service are adhered to and that logbooks are filled out and complete when handed in for daily and monthly auditing all safety meetings as hydrovac units and equipment in a safe responsible and professional the area around excavation site is properly barricaded prior to and during the entire excavation that there is always a watch person when working with excavation of high voltage underground leadership guidance and mentorship to assisting job duties as required as the above duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without :High School Diploma GED or equivalent1 - 3 years of related experienceClass 1 or 3 Licence with airLess than 6 demerits (province specific)No suspensions or convictions in the past 3 yearsValid safety certifications such as Standard First Aid H2S Ground Disturbance and Confined Space/Entry MonitorOil field service industry knowledgeMust be self-directed and have the ability to work with little supervisionDemonstrated leadership skills and abilitiesAbove average work ethicCORE COMPETENCIES:Equipment operationLeadership skillsQuality orientationTime managementOrganization and planningDevelopment and continual learningStrong communication skillsEnergetic and the ability to manage a large workloadAccountability and dependabilityDecision making and judgementEthics and integrityWORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Will require travel to other branch locations as well as project sites that require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed boots coveralls safety glasses hard hat and mandatory hearing physical labour to occasionally lift items as heavy as 50 lbs as well as reaching above shoulder height or below the be exposed to a variety of conditions and job and/or standing as needed as well as walking on uneven surfaces for periods throughout the day.
